Mixing and Mastering among the WLDFLWRS

WLDFLWRS

The irrepressable Jono Wright approached me to mix another project of his, the WLDFLWRS. The clue is in the name – there’s a fabulous Tom Petty album called Wildflowers, and its influence is keenly felt in their music. Here’s what they say: “The band’s debut eponymous 7 track EP is steeped in Americana music, despite being recorded in rural Warwickshire. Sun-drenched 70s Laurel Canyon harmonies mixed with alt. country stylings, via the AOR influence of Tom Petty. This EP celebrates a well-honed new group who, while respectfully acknowledging the direction of their forebears, are firmly offering their own distinctive and compelling new sound. It is available on all streaming platforms and on limited edition green vinyl.” So I’ve utterly loved mixing and mastering the EP… Here’s the lead-off video:

So if you’re a vinyl nut like me, you’ll love the green vinyl 45rpm disc, beautifully cut and pressed by Seabass Vinyl…

Jono says:

“I have had the pleasure of knowing George for a number of years. He is an incredible producer and musician who knows how to get the best out of the musician and the song. George has really captured the sound and the vibe that WLDFLWRS were after, his professional input, advice and work ethic make him a joy to work with”
