BBG – Butler, Blake and Grant – a supergroup!
In 2021 I rekindled my working relationship with Bernard Butler. Firstly I mastered the deluxe reissue of his People Move On solo album (which I engineered in 1997). This led to other projects Bernard produced such as Sam Lee, and Bernard’s own long-awaited third solo album. BBG also links in with my distant past, as I engineered and mixed Teenage Fanclub’s 1997 album Songs From Northern Britain. That band’s Norman Blake is the second B in BBG. And the G is James Grant of Love & Money, a fantastic band whose records I have previously bought and loved!
The Making Of…
Despite Bernard’s hectic and busy live touring diary, somehow Butler, Blake & Grant have completed an entire album of terrific songs.
